This week we’re celebrating the 1 year anniversary of Wills Casa. Today we thought we’d share how the blog has grown over the last 12 months from our view. We have established a small but very supportive readership community, and we look forward to growing that community this next year.
So here we go. First, we thought we’d show how the site traffice has grown over the past 12 months. We’ve averaged about 20% growth month-over-month, which we think is pretty healthy. December was our highest month ever, but we don’t expect to match that in January of this year.
Next is our most common referrers. These are basically (with the exception of search engines), links from sites that people click and come to our site. Lots of familiar names on this list.
Here is our most common outbound clicks. These are the links that people click that leave our site. Generally they are links inside posts referencing another blog or product.
Speaking of search engines, the list above is what people searched for most commonly that brought them to our site. Apparently we’re really popular with the veneer furniture crowd which makes sense because our guide to painting and staining veneer furniture is our most popular post.
So there you go. Thank you to everyone who came from other sites / search engines and stuck around. And especially thank you to all of our blogger friends out there who have been unbelievably supportive. We can’t wait to see what happens here in the next 12 months.
Happy Blogiversary guys! Looks like you are making great headway to becoming the next “big thing”
Ha. I don’t know about that. I think we’re both happy with people reading it. It didn’t always feel like people were…
That looks really good. Congratulations on that quick growth Are you collecting those numbers via Google Analytics?
We do track via google analytics, but that’s more for deep-diving type stuff. I go in to Google Analytics every month or two, to see if there are any traffic trends that I haven’t picked up on.
For day to day stuff, we monitor the traffic inside WordPress traffic. We use JetPack and the more detailed Site Stats that come with that. That generally has all the info we need.
Cool. I don’t use WordPress, so I am not up on all their stuff
Thanks!
Happy one year! My favorite part about blogging is the community that is created, world wide, with other like minded DIYer. It’s terrific!
Thank you! It has been a ton of fun getting to know people who share our interests. It was probably the main reason we started blogging again…that and I need to get stuff done around here.
