In case anyone needed a reminder that I’m a realtor (and a super fun one at that), here’s some client work I did for one of my buyers which is like the best perk ever. Read: send all your friends to me to buy/sell.

Raising Readers Volume 1
A new blog series of sorts is happening today. It’s all about Raising Readers and features my adorable children (no bias in that statement). In my former life, I was a first grade teacher. My passion for children’s literature is still alive and well. Also hereditary apparently since both Ramona (5) and Beckett (at 18 months!!!) love to “read”.
We wanted to share some favorites with you. It’s the best way I can document this cuteness while it lasts and hopefully help you mamas at home find some new books that make reading with and to your kids more enjoyable.
DIY Abstract Drapes
The most ambitious DIY I did for Ramona’s room was her abstract drapes. Full disclosure this is not a DIY for the faint of heart. It’s a pretty simple (dare I say easy) process, but it’s incredibly time consuming and not real cheap either. I know I’m really selling you on doing this right now. BUT they are jaw dropping. People are floored at their awesomeness when they come over. Worth it.
Weekend Wants
Another edition of weekend wants makes a blog appearance because sometimes over sharing is a good thing.
DIY Tribal Wall Art
Nick is always noticing awesome things in restaurants and coffee shops, so it’s no surprise our next tutorial is inspired from an art piece from Weekend Coffee in Dallas. As soon as he saw it, he wanted to re create one for Ramona’s room.
What the heck
Yeah I mean you hear crickets on the blog for months and then all of the sudden there’s a blog post on April Fool’s Day nonetheless! The title says it all. What the heck is happening around Wills Casa?? Have we gone the way of the buffalo (which technically the guys in the picture are bison and also probably female but irrelevant to my point)??
The New Year, 8 Days In
Happy 2015!! Ignore the fact that I’m 8 days late with that salutation. We had an amazing kick off to the new year with Nick and our friend David cooking a 14 course tasting menu from the French Laundry cookbook. It was a very ambitious undertaking for the boys, but they did an absolutely incredible job. (Don’t believe me check instagram. It doesn’t tell lies.)
Deck the Halls with Yarn (and food)??
I know most of you will read this after Christmas, but I would be really upset with myself if I didn’t document our first Christmas in the new house. I know everyone these days claims certain things are “the struggle.” Let me just fill you in that decorating and maintaining a Christmas tree with Beckett is the struggle. I decided to bail on all our Christmas decoration and DIY the entire tree (except the star).
White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn
If you follow us on instagram, you know we made some old school popcorn garland for our this weekend. Apparently having left over popcorn translates to a popcorn recipe. White chocolate peppermint popcorn to be exact.
DIY Ornaments: Mini Wall Hangings
When it’s Christmas time and you want to learn to weave and Elf is on (the Will Ferrell version not the other one), this is what happens. You DIY ornaments – the mini wall hanging kinds of ornaments. Actually that’s kind of a lie because most of these were made while watching Gilmore Girls. Details.
So are you ready to learn how to DIY some super awesome ornaments aka mini wall hangings full of awesomeness?? They are actually very easy and a great way to de-stress from the holiday craziness.
